Austin

  • Festival | Bach, Handel & Vivaldi (free): At Redeemer Presbyterian Church, the stage is set as Philharmonic Orchestra and Redeemer Choir, led by Mark Dupere, immerse the audience in the timeless compositions of Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi. December 1, 2023, at 7pm-9pm.
  • The Watchmaker’s Song: Held at Neill-Cochran House Museum, this event showcases the diverse artistic spirit of the city, featuring performances such as Egyptian Belly Dance, Spanish Flamenco, Argentinian Tango, and American Tap Dance. Among the diverse array of performances, the unforgettable presence of Mother Ginger adds a charm to this festive experience. Tickets are available online starting at $40. Various dates between December 7-16, 2023.
  • Chefs in the Park: This local food extravaganza will take place at Lakeline Park in collaboration between Tivity, a locally owned company, and the City of Cedar Park. Five private chefs will take center stage, each crafting three-course meals that showcase their culinary style. Tickets are $69 can be purchased online. December 30, 2023, 2pm-6pm.

  • Words into Worlds (free): Witness the artistic bridge between written word and the stage in iconic American and British theatre productions at the Harry Ransom Center at UT Austin. This exhibit will merge visionary storytelling with tangible creative interpretations while offering insights into the theatrical process. Recurring weekly on Sunday & Tuesday (August 26 – December 31, 2023).
  • Falling Into Winter Group Exhibition (free): Art for the People Gallery in Austin invites art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the “Falling into Winter” group exhibition. The gallery’s latest showcase captures the seasonal shift through a diverse collection of artworks by Austin artists. Recurring weekly on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (October 28th – January 5th, 2024).

Bay Area Houston

  • NASA Nutcracker Market (free admission): Step into an eclectic world of retail therapy and get ahead of your Christmas to-do list this year.   • Sip & Shop Brunch Event: Indulge in a delightful afternoon of fashion, food, and fun at the 2023 Sip & Shop Brunch Event. Beaumont

  • Home For The Holidays (free): This much-anticipated occasion at Julie Rodgers Theatre promises to be a festive celebration of the most wonderful time of the year, featuring Texas Tenors alongside the SOST Chorus. December 3rd, 2023, at 4PM.
  • Extended Hours with the Movie Elf: At the Beaumont Children’s Museum, immerse yourself in the world of elves with themed crafts and activities, followed by a showing of Elf at the Jefferson Theater. Tickets are $6. December 15, 2023, at 4 PM to 7:00 PM.

Bellville

  • Small Town Christmas – This year will mark its 41st celebration, with the lighting of Bellville’s Christmas Tree, a dazzling lighted parade and a host of activities like pictures with Santa, a petting zoo, live entertainment, and farmers market activities. And don’t miss the Drive-Thru Living Nativity at St. John Lutheran’s Retreat Center! December 1-2, 2023.

Blanco

  • Festival of Texas Fiddling: This event at Twin Sisters Dance Hall boasts a rich tapestry of genres, including Old Time, Country, Western Swing, Texas Style, Texas-Mexican (Tejano), Creole, Texas-Polish, and Son Huasteco. You are in for a day filled with non-stop dancing, instrument workshops, jam sessions, and vendors offering local food. Tickets are available online. December 1-2, 2023.
  • Very Merry Maker’s Fair at Real Ale Brewing Company (free admission): Support local artisans while enjoying independent craft beer. You can find unique handmade gifts for everyone on your list, all while relishing a beer or cocktail. December 9, 2023, 12 PM to 6 PM.
  • Blanco’s Annual Lighted Christmas Parade (free) – Taking place around the historic Old Blanco Courthouse square, the parade comes to life with an array of lighted floats that illuminate the streets, circling the town square. There will also be a Christmas Market on the same day starting at 9am, with arts and crafts, unique gift ideas, and Christmas items. December 16, 2023. Parade will begin at dusk.

Boerne

  • Weihnachts Weekend: This festive celebration captures the German heritage that is deeply ingrained in the heart of the Boerne community. As darkness falls, the streets come alive with a dazzling display of floats, marching bands, and walking groups, all decorated with twinkling lights. December 1-2, 2023.
  • A Toast to Olde Town Weekend (free): Marking the third Christmas in Boerne, A Toast to Olde Town Weekends pays homage to the town’s historic legacy with a blend of live music, Wassail tastings, and an appearance by Santa at J. Forks. December 8-10, 2023, from 10am-5pm.
  • Kinder Fest: You’re encouraged to wear your Christmas PJs or tacky sweaters and participate in activities along Boerne’s Hill Country Mile, including FREE events like the Santa Scavenger Hunt and Cowboy Christmas Market Days for those last minute gifts! December 15-17, 2023.

  • The Old Jail Museum Tours: Learn about Kendall County history inside this historic jailhouse that dates back to 1887. Tickets for visitors 10+ years old are just $5! Visitors under 10 will receive free admission. Weekly every Saturday.
Boerne Lake

Brownwood

  • Christmas Under the Stars Festival (free): This annual holiday event in Brownwood will feature local vendors selling unique gifts perfect for the holiday season to food stalls serving up delicious treats. There will also be activities for the kiddos, such as cookie decorating and big wheel races. And don’t forget to enjoy some hot chocolate while you’re there! Be sure to check out the 4th Annual Sipping Under the Stars for a chance to taste wines and beers in a festive setting. Tickets for Sipping Under the Stars are available online. December 2, 2023, 9 AM to 8 PM.
  • Family Camp Christmas Festival: Hosted by the Heart of Texas Camp and Retreat, this festival will include a beautiful display of Christmas lights, as well as a zip line, on-site manger, and outdoor firepits. Tickets are available online. December 8-10, 2023.
  • The Polar Express Reimagined: This magical holiday event will bring to life the beloved holiday story of The Polar Express. For an admission fee of $10, attendees can enjoy a theatrical reading of the story, hot chocolate, a mini train ride, and more! Tickets can be purchased on-site. December 16, 2023, 5 PM to 7 PM.

  • 2nd Sundays in Downtown Brownwood: Local businesses will be open and offering something unique and fun! Explore the charm of downtown Brownwood and enjoy food, drinks, and some shopping! Monthly every 2nd Sunday.

  • Christmas Arts & Crafts Show at the Brazos Center (free admission): As a premier arts and crafts show, this holiday market will feature quality artists and craftspeople with over 100 booths. These booths offer one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts, including home and holiday decor, and a multitude of other unique items perfect for the holiday season. December 2-3, 2023.
  • Winter Wonderland at Travis Fields (free): Presented by the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum, this festive event transforms Travis Fields into a magical winter wonderland, featuring an array of activities suitable for all ages! Highlights include a captivating Candy Cane Lane, a petting zoo, and a chance to meet Santa! December 2nd, from 11 AM to 4 PM.
  • A Winter Cocktails Class at Ronin Farm & Restaurant: This seasonal cocktail class will offer a unique opportunity to learn the art of crafting winter-themed cocktails. This season, the class adopted a deep dive/lecture-style format. Led by the bar manager, participants will embark on a tasting journey while discussing history, recipes, and tasting notes.

  • Karaoke at Yesterday’s (free): Indulge in a lively crowd of music at South Texas Avenue where fun-loving individuals eager to showcase their vocal prowess. Weekly every Wednesday from 8pm-12am.
  • Trivia at RX Pizza (free): The weekly trivia nights at Rx Pizza offer a perfect blend of entertainment and camaraderie, inviting you to come together for a chance to showcase your expertise and win exciting rewards. Weekly every Thursday from 8pm-10pm.

  • Burnet’s Christmas on the Square (free): Held in downtown Burnet, Christmas on the Square includes a bicycle giveaway, a children’s area designed just for them, including a snow slide and snow play area, live holiday entertainment, over 175 vendors, and a holiday parade. December 9, 2023, from 12 PM to 8 PM.

Canton

  • The East Texas Book Bash: Participants will not only have the opportunity to meet their favorite authors but also enjoy food and wine served during the event. The East Texas Book Bash provides a platform for authors to interact with their readers and for readers to discover new books. Tickets are available online. December 9, 2023, from 1 PM to 4 PM at Mill Creek Ranch Resort.
  • Snow Day Festival & Parade (free admission): The event includes a lighted Christmas parade and a variety of snow-themed activities in downtown Canton. Visitors can enjoy a range of fun activities such as pictures with Santa, hot cocoa, snow activities, and a bounce house. December 9th, 2023, from 5 PM to 9 PM. The parade will start at 6:30 PM.
  • Christmas Carnival: Local family-friendly favorite, Yesterland Farm, will be adorned with vibrant Christmas lights and offering various attractions like Christmas wagon rides, a new train ride (both lit with lights and decorated for the season), as well as amusement park rides, photo ops, a petting zoo, and delicious farm treats like their specialty cocoa. They’ve also added a NEW Christmas Light Experience! Tickets are available online. Open Friday – Sunday until December 23, 2023.

  • Breakfast With Santa: Santa Claus himself will be visiting Margaritaville Lake Resort where families are invited to join in the celebration and contribute to the spirit of giving by bringing along new and unwrapped board games for the Community Assistance Center of Montgomery County. Tickets are $39.95 for adults ($24.95 for children) and are available online. December 16, 2023, from 8:30 AM until 12:30 PM
  • Das ist Lustig Chistmas Show: The Table at Madeley will host spirited performances of American Christmas classics, as well as German and Austrian holiday tunes, featuring the sounds of Alpine folk instruments such as the Alp Horn, tuned Austrian Cowbells, and a Singing Saw! Tickets are available online. December 22, 2023, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM

  • Monthly Member Exhibit (free admission): Come join this event at The Madeley Building, showcasing a vibrant array of 2D and 3D art exclusively crafted by talented local artists.   • Coastal Christmas: Join the 5th annual Christmas festivities at the American Bank where you are invited to immerse yourself in the spirit of the season by ice skating, capturing timeless moments with family photo ops, and enjoying festive refreshments. Tickets are priced at $12 (includes one skate admission + ice skate rental) or $8 with your own skates. December 20, 2023, from 11:30AM to 10:00 PM
  • Holiday Kids Art Camp: At Crazy Picasso, skilled instructors will guide your little ones through a canvas painting activity. Tickets are $135 for a week. December 27-31, 2023, from 9AM to 12PM.

  • Hot Yoga in the Brewhouse: The yoga session transitions into a social gathering, where you are offered refreshing beers and barbecue afterwards. Weekly on Fridays from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Beach Barre: Indulge in a full-body barre fitness and standing Pilates workout. The program combines sculpting and toning with emphasis on posture and cardio. Tickets are $15. Weekly on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 10:00AM

  • Taylor Swift Bingo: Sweet Tooth Hotel will host a Taylor Swift-themed, musical Bingo event and embrace your inner Swiftie! There will be cocktails and an opportunity to win some prizes!

  • Game Night! at Landon Winery Denison (free admission): Come and join Landon Winery Denison – where Game Night transforms into a hub of entertainment, inviting you to roll the dice, draw cards, and enjoy the finest wines. December 5, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
  • Denison on Ice: The outdoor holiday ice skating rink in downtown Denison will once again make its appearance. The rink has a canopy covering and skaters from across the region are welcome. Tickets are $10 for one hour of skating and includes skates. November 18, 2023 – January 7, 2024.

Driftwood/Dripping Springs

  • Christmas on Mercer Street (free): Visitors can expect to see downtown Dripping Springs transformed into a festive wonderland along both Mercer Street and Old Fitzhugh Road. Attendees can enjoy a wide range of activities and entertainment, including a holiday movie and tree lighting on Friday, as well as arts & crafts, vendors, holiday music, and visits with Santa on Saturday. December 1-2, 2023.
  • Star Party at Westcave Preserve: The Westcave Preserve is a dark sky location, making it an ideal spot for stargazing. During the Star Party, attendees have the opportunity to tour the night skies, with experts often on hand to guide the experience and answer your questions. Tickets are available online. December 2, 2023, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
  • Driftwood Art Fair & Holiday Bazaar (free admission): Hosted at the Hill Country Tasting Room & Event Space in Bee Cave, Texas, the Driftwood Art Fair features over 20 local artisans showcasing their work. The range of products available typically includes everything from handcrafted jewelry to beautiful home decor items, making it a perfect destination for holiday shopping. Visitors can also enjoy live music, food, and holiday-style beverages. December 9, 2023, from 1 PM to 6 PM.

  • Live Music at Mercer Dancehall: Embark on a weekend getaway or an evening of live music and relaxation at Mercer Dancehall, nestled in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Join the fun every weekend for live music and the 2000 square-foot, wrap-around porch. Weekly every Saturday & Sunday.
  • Tavern Trivia at Suds Monkey: Put your knowledge to the test during Tavern Trivia. This is your chance to showcase your expertise on a wide range of topics in the welcoming and cozy atmosphere of their taproom. Every Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM (through December 27, 2023)

Ennis

  • Cookies with Mrs. Claus: Children will decorate gingerbread houses while enjoying a special story-time session from Mrs. Claus. Tickets are $35 and are available online. December 2, 2023, from 10 AM to 3 PM.
  • Lucky C.C. Car Show & Toy Drive: This event in downtown Ennis attracts car enthusiasts and families alike with its display of cars, trucks, hot rods, rat rods, customs, low riders, and motorcycles, but it’s more than just a car show. It’s also a toy drive, with attendees encouraged to bring an unwrapped gift. These gifts are then distributed to children in need during the holiday season, adding a charitable aspect to the fun-filled day. December 2, 2023, from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Farmersville

  • Christmas Parade & Rudolph “Fun” Run: More information will become available on the Chamber of Commerce website as it becomes available. December 9, 2023

Recurring Events

  • Farmersville Market at the Onion Shed & City Hall (free admission): This event has been running since 2004 and features food and craft vendors, trails, and restaurants. Monthly (except January & October) on the 1st Saturday from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Fort Worth

  • Holiday at the Hearth: At the Log Cabin Village in Fort Worth, visitors can expect an afternoon filled with holiday music, ornament making, and even visits with Santa. The event also offers holiday crafts, games, and more. Tickets are $8 for ages 18+, $7 for ages 4-17 & 60+, and ages 3 and under are free. December 2, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 2 PM.
  • Christmas in the Stockyards (free): The iconic Fort Worth Stockyards will come alive with the sights and sounds of Christmas, with the area blanketed in festive lights, including a 40-foot Christmas tree. There will also be holiday music, two championship rodeos, a Christmas parade and ice skating. December 2, 2023, from 10 AM to 8 PM (parade at 4 PM).
  • Mexico en la Sangre: Holiday on Horseback: During this holiday cultural event, the Cowtown Coliseum celebrates Hispanic heritage and showcases various aspects of Mexican culture, including Charreria (Mexican rodeo), and features caballos bailadores (dancing horses), folklorico dances, and live music. There will also be a a parade following the cattle drive and a special ceremony called “El Grito” by El Consulado de Mexico. Tickets are available online. December 17, 2023 at 2 PM.
  • The Kwanzaa Community Celebration at The Dock Bookshop (free admission): One of the largest African American owned full-service independent bookstores in Texas will celebrate Kwanzaa with guest artists, a drum circle, story time, food, and more! December 30, 2023, 12 PM to 2 PM. There will also be several other events happening all week, from Dec. 26-Jan. 1.

Frisco

  • Chanukah at The Star (free): Organized by the Chabad of Frisco, this event celebrates Chanukah, the Jewish Festival of Lights, and includes live musical performances, the lighting of a giant menorah, and the distribution of chocolate gelt and dreidels. December 14, 2023 at 6 PM.
  • Walnut’s Wassail Walk (free): Walnut’s Wassail Walk will serve wassail, a traditional beverage made from hot mulled cider mixed with spices, and will feature roaming carolers, pop-up musicians, local arts groups, and various holiday-themed activities. The event also includes a walk around the Frisco Heritage Museum. December 14, 2023, from 6 PM to 8 PM.

  • Frisco Starfest (free): Hang out with the Texas Astronomical Society and learn all about space. Check the hotline before you go by calling 214-800-6000. Monthly on the 2nd Saturday, 6 PM to 10:30 PM weather permitting.

Galveston

  • Shykatz Neighborhood Christmas Party: Prepare yourself for the 2nd Annual Shykatz Neighborhood Christmas Party being held at backyard of Shykatz in Galveston. This year’s festivities promises an outdoor cinema. Bring your blankets and chairs for a Christmas movie with sweet treats such as popped popcorn. Remember to be on the lookout for a Special Guest Appearance! December 1, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
  • Parish Christmas Dinner (free): Embrace this festive spirit at Trinity Episcopal Church in Galveston as they host their much-anticipated Parish Christmas Dinner. You are encouraged to contribute to the communal feast by bringing your favorite side dishes, desserts, and adult beverage of your choice. To reserve a spot, call or email the church office.   • Thursday Taproom Trivia at the Barking Armadillo (free admission): Weekly on Thursdays
  • Live Music at the Library: The Georgetown Public Library hosts “Live Music at the Library” with seating limited to 200 attendees. These concerts are free and open to the public, and no longer require registration. Monthly every 3rd Sunday beginning at 2 PM

  • Houston TX BYOB Paint N Sip: Immerse yourself at Hillcroft for a painting experience with a major twist, specifically designed for open-minded individuals seeking an adult-oriented paint night. You will unleash your creativity on canvas. Tickets are $30. December 2, 2023, from 9:00 PM- 11 PM.
  • Houston TX Lace Front Wig Making Class with Sewing Machines: Immerse yourself in the art of wig making at the Hilton Houston Plaza, where an exciting hands-on workshop awaits.   • The Joy of Christmas RV Rally (free): Embark on this festive journey at Buckhorn Lake Resort with your family and experience a unique blend of community as you decorate the RVs with twinkling lights and festive ornaments. You will also gather around campfires, enjoy carol-singing sessions, and a visit from Santa Claus. December 6-10, 2023, from 2:30 PM to 10:00 PM
  • Ballet Frontier: The Nutcracker Ballet: Indulge your children at Cailloux Theater for the ballet dance. They are in for a treat as they witness the magical journey of Clara and her extraordinary Christmas present, transcending into The Land of Snow. December 15, 2023, at 7:30 PM
