The Luxury Accommodations

Camp Lucy has several different rooms, cottages, and deluxe tree-top suites. We opted to stay in the Vista Rooms, which have beautiful canopy-style beds and a patio overlooking the trees. An inviting step-down seating area separate from the bedroom, complemented by a semi-private outdoor patio, was the perfect spot to sit back and admire the stunning beauty of Camp Lucy’s rolling hillsides.

Things to Do at Camp Lucy

The wide range of activities they offered most excited me about Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs, Texas. There are many options, including a wine tour through their vineyards, guided or self-guided hikes through their beautiful property, painting, and more. They even have fishing poles so you can go fishing in their creek!

One of my definite favorites was feeding alpacas. You can grab a pack of their feed from the front desk, and these sweet guys will come to you and let you pet them while they munch on snacks!

They also had some pretty cool “camp” activities! We got to shoot bows and even throw hatchets! These activities are a lot of fun, and you save a lot of money by everything being included on the property, allowing you to try them rather than booking them individually.

When not enjoying their fun activities, they also have a beautiful resort-style pool, which includes a swim-up pool bar.

Another fun feature we had was a fire pit and s’mores available for roasting marshmallows. There are several other fire pits around as well for relaxing evenings with a glass of wine in hand. Did I mention that Camp Lucy even has its brand of wine that comes from its vineyard and is only available here?

Dining at Camp Lucy: A Vietnamese Town Hall in Texas?

One of the most shocking things, not only for Camp Lucy, but all of Texas, is the onsite restaurant, Tillie’s. There was a building in Vietnam scheduled for demolition, and rather than see all of the incredible handiwork, intricate art, and high-quality materials destroyed, the owners of Campy Lucy shipped this town hall and several other buildings to Texas! They repurposed this town hall into a fine dining restaurant that is unlike any other. A bronze-gilded chandelier from France hangs on the high ceilings, while beautiful antique patron saint figurines adorn the walls. Definitely not what you expect in a small Texas town!

Tillie’s Camp Lucy

I actually first came across Camp Lucy because of Tillie’s. This place has been consistently rated as one of the top restaurants in the United States, and people will travel hours to eat here. Not that I’m surprised. Even if you aren’t staying on property, make sure to schedule a dinner here at some point!

Everything on the menu is impressive, and they regularly change it so you can experience something new every time. Many items are Asian-inspired due to the town hall influence, although you can also find other options. I would definitely vote for their mole chicken.

To start, we ordered their honey butter biscuits. While I love my bread, the biscuits were so rich, sweet, and salty at the same time that my entire dinner could have consisted of these biscuits alone. They also had unique items, like sunchokes.

Another highlight was the drinks. The Dripping Springs area has numerous excellent distilleries, and their menu features many local ingredients to create unique drinks.

Premier Wedding Venues and Event Spaces at Camp Lucy

Camp Lucy is home to a variety of event spaces and five unique venues for the most breathtaking weddings. I met couples celebrating their big day, andd wine lovers who couldn’t get enough of the vineyard views.

Whit’s Inn is a renovated old ranch’s original homestead, featuring outdoor seating, while Sacred Oaks is a beautiful outdoor wedding venue with a spacious porch offering stunning Hill Country views.

Ian’s Chapel features a restored 19th-century French colonial chapel, an antique bell from Vietnam, and a majestic Events Hall made from a repurposed 1800s Amish barn. The open-air Pavilion is crafted from 1930s French Colonial church timbers and a Ludowici tile roof from the Bexar County courthouse. Among other options are a working vineyard with private hospitality suites and luxury guest rooms, and Tillie’s Restaurant’s private dining room, Mr. Kiem’s, which can accommodate up to 20 guests.

A collection of multiple first-class venue locations equipped with modern technologies and conveniences makes Camp Lucy a corporate retreat for hosting workshops, business, seminars, and even overnight retreats. From catered meal plans and beverage services to tailored team-building activities, they handle all the details.
