Check out our list of unique things to do and experience the city like never before.

Table of Contents
Rent a Moke with Gulf Coast Mokes
Driving a Moke around Corpus Christi honestly feels like you’re in a movie. They’re these bright, open-air little cars that turn even a short drive into a mini adventure. I couldn’t stop smiling the whole time, and people actually waved as I passed by.

It’s such a fun way to see the seawall or hop from the beach to lunch without feeling stuck in a regular car. They’re electric too, so you get all the good vibes without the gas guilt. If you want your weekend to feel instantly more playful, this is the ride to do it in.

Take Flight with Splendid Aviation
Flying with Splendid Aviation is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done in Corpus. Their instructors are warm and approachable, which takes away the nerves of being in the cockpit for the first time and adds to the excitement. The whole setup feels professional but still personal, so you’re not just another student.

The moment the plane lifted off, I was hooked—it’s just an incredible way to see the city and the bay from above. Even if you never thought about flying a plane, trust me, it’s worth it.

Splash Around at Hurricane Alley Waterpark
Hurricane Alley is exactly what you need on a hot Corpus weekend. The Cat 5 slide is a total adrenaline rush, but I loved just floating along the lazy river and watching the kids go wild in the surf simulator and splash zones.

The park has a little something for everyone—big thrills, chill time, and family fun. And since it’s so close to downtown, it’s easy to plan a whole day around it.

Shop Spooky at Wild Wolf Halloween Store
Walking into Wild Wolf feels like Halloween never ended, and I’m here for it. The shop is packed with costumes, masks, horror collectibles, and quirky accessories that make you want to linger and explore every shelf. It’s got that mix of fun and creepy that keeps you coming back.

Even if you’re not shopping for October, it’s still a fun place to wander and find something unexpected. If you’re a fan of all things spooky, this is one of those “must-stop” Corpus spots.

Game and Hang at Retro Corpus
Retro is one of my favorite places to hang out because it mixes everything I love—good food, games, and a cool vibe. I went for the arcade games and ended up staying for the rooftop and pizza.

During the day it’s super family-friendly with unlimited arcade and pinball play for one flat price (and cheaper on Sundays). At night, it feels like a totally different place with music, comedy, and drinks. Add in the rooftop view, and you’ve got a spot that works for both daytime fun and after-dark energy.

Grab a Bite at Central Kitchen
Central Kitchen makes downtown Corpus breakfasts and lunches so much better. Their breads and sauces are all scratch-made, and you can actually taste the difference in their sandwiches.

It’s quick, but it never feels rushed or generic. Even better, you can peek through the bakery window and watch them work their magic. It’s a perfect stop whether you’re fueling up for a day of exploring or grabbing a laid-back lunch.

Stay at the Omni Corpus Christi Hotel
If you’re looking for a place to stay that’s right in the middle of it all, Omni Corpus Christi delivers. The view from the balcony alone makes the stay memorable—I loved waking up to the bay right outside my room.

The heated indoor/outdoor pool is perfect for relaxing between adventures, and you can walk to the aquarium, USS Lexington, or downtown without even needing a car. It’s convenience and comfort all in one, and easily one of the best stays in town.

Shop Local at Sew Bonita
Sew Bonita is pure happiness in shop form. It’s colorful, bold, and filled with unique gifts, jewelry, home décor, and clothing that really celebrate Mexican culture. Every time I go in, I find something I didn’t know I needed. Even if you’re “just browsing,” chances are you’ll leave with something that brightens your day.

Catch a Show at Brewster Street Icehouse
Brewster Street Icehouse has that classic Corpus vibe—relaxed but upbeat. With live music, hearty food, and plenty of space to gather, it’s perfect for a casual night out. I’ve gone just for a meal, but catching a concert there takes it up a notch.

It’s also one of the best venues in town for concerts. Pair a good show with a plate of comfort food, and you’ve got the recipe for a great night in Corpus.

Unravel Corpus Christi’s Mysteries with Scavenger Hunts
A digital scavenger hunt brings Corpus Christi to life. Discover hidden gems by solving puzzles, taking crazy challenges, and interacting with hospitable locals. This self-guided tour mixes the outdoors and indoors, with extra photo opportunities and lots of fun.

If you’re feeling daring, try sandboarding; it’s like surfing on sand dunes and far more enjoyable than surfing on a real surfboard! This is absolutely the perfect place for nature lovers.

K Space Contemporary showcases courageous innovation and fosters local talent via 18–20 yearly exhibitions that boost Corpus Christi’s art scene. See public murals, discover your inner artist, and celebrate culture during their well-known Dia de los Muertos Festival.

At the USS Lexington Museum, you may pay your respects while also learning about the history of the United States.
