See The World’s Largest Shovel at Garden-Ville
At Garden-Ville Creedmoor, stands a monumental shovel constructed from recycled materials: its blade once served as a dumpster, while its handle was crafted from a utility pole, making it the world’s largest shovel. Soaring 41 feet high and weighing 5,000 pounds, this unique structure occasionally goes missing when showcased at local fairs.
Note: For whatever reason when we were there, the shovel was down. I’m not sure if that was bad luck or something else. If you visit, leave a comment on the status of the shovel so we can update accordingly.

Visitors can enjoy various amenities, including a pavilion, amphitheater, playground, trails, open space, a pond, and a council ring. Garlic Creek Park spans 31 acres of developed land, complemented by an additional 44 acres of untouched natural surroundings.
The park offers a range of amenities, including a playground, basketball court, picnic tables, and a pavilion. Adjacent to the park lies an outdoor community pool.These scenic parks are well worth exploring!

Buda Mill and Grain on Main Street in the heart of Buda has a collection of lovely shops to browse in.

- Or if you’re into the outdoors, Hays Co. Outfitters is the perfect store for you as they sell a range of clothing and gear designed to keep you comfy on your adventures.
- Ellipsis Boutique is a women’s clothing and accessory store which is full of the latest trends and has some really cute clothing.
- Assemblage Contemporary Craftsman Gallery is an art gallery showcasing handcrafted masterpieces created by contemporary American artists.
- Em Dash bookstore is another favorite spot on Main St. for supporting local authors and discovering a variety of books, children’s literature, and unique artwork like mugs and more. You can even find different events throughout the week including silent reads and crafting evenings.

Grace Monroe Boutique is a locally woman owned boutique offering clothing, bikinis, and accessories that have been curated from all over the United States Additionally, inside, you’ll find a DIY hat bar where you can design and customize your own one-of-a-kind hat.
Conveniently situated near Willie’s Joint BAR and GRILL, it’s the perfect spot for a shopping spree followed by a delicious meal (or be like me and leave your husband to grab a drink at Willie’s while you shop). .
Sip and Shop at Zoi Market
Zoi Market is a boutique medicinal herb shop and mini grocery store, offering a diverse selection of goods all under one roof. The relaxed atmosphere, with plants adorning the space and local artwork, creates a lovely ambiance and makes it fun just for wandering through and seeing all of the unique items.
Connected to the coffee shop Meridian, you can enjoy a drink while browsing. With a boutique featuring various items for purchase, a section dedicated to medicinal herbs, and a flower and plant shop, Zoi Market has everything you need to stock your home. We had so much fun finding little treasures here from records, vintage cameras, silly coffee mugs, scrabble letters, and more!
And if you’re a fan of the bold designs of the Art Deco era and Mid Century Modern pieces, Antiques & More is the perfect one-stop destination. They also showcase high-end jewelry, including exquisite rings with real diamonds and precious stones in 10-14k gold and platinum settings.

Places to Eat and Drink in Buda TX
Vintage Diner Experience at Dan’s Hamburgers
We enjoyed good food at Dan’s Hamburgers, an Austin tradition since 1973, which remains family-owned and operated. Offering a menu featuring burgers, sandwiches, tenders, sides, shakes, and more, they are open from 6 am to 5 pm on Sundays and 6 am to 9/10 pm Monday through Saturday.
Visit an Artsy Coffee Haven at Meridian
Meridian offers an extensive selection of coffees, coffee alternatives, teas, wellness shots, and medicinal tonics. Housed in a historic Mercantile building (one of the best historic landmarks in Buda) with the second oldest working elevator in Texas, its artsy and unique vibe is something not to be missed.
A popular choice for a hangout spot with the residents of Buda, Meridian hosts regular special events such as poetry nights, open mic sessions, comedy shows, craft events, and more. It’s one of the most fun historic buildings you’ll ever come across!
Make Your Own Wine at Water 2 Wine
At Water 2 Wine, you can craft your own wine (make sure to call and schedule beforehand). Producing approximately 4200 bottles monthly, they offer personalized wine making experiences. Jill, the in-house winemaker, provided fantastic guidance through the process. You can also opt to go for a glass of wine or tasting if you would like. To make an appointment, just call their address 512-312-9890.

Treat Yourself at Buda Soda Fountain
We visited Buda Soda Fountain and I enjoyed an ice cream sundae at this joint which is famous for its old fashioned style soda fountain. They offer a variety of treats including Blue Bell ice cream, cookies, pastries, sandwiches, soups, and more. Adjacent to the original soda fountain is the Buda Drug Store, owned by the same people.
Go for Vibes and a Drink at Willie’s
Visit Willie’s Joint BAR and GRILL for a relaxed atmosphere and refreshing drinks. The owners here wanted to create a community space where you could go enjoy shade under the tall oak trees, grab a drink, visit a food truck and listen to live music. There’s even an outdoor playground so you can sit back and relax while the kids play.
We visited here a couple times to enjoy a drink and sign our names on the wall inside, to grab coffee at a local food truck in the morning, and to do a little shopping at Grace Monroes. One day we even saw the beginning of a crab boil.

We also experienced the enchantment of The Magic Mini Home Airbnb, a Harry Potter-themed accommodation nestled within Doc’s Drive In Theatre. Star Wars Themed AirBnb
Discover the cosmic wonder of A Galaxy Tiny Home, a Star Wars-themed Airbnb located within Doc’s Drive In Theatre.
