The Best Restaurants and Food to try in Buda TX

Enjoy Eats and Treats at Dos Olivos Market

If you’re looking for a better place to eat than a traditional restaurant, why not try a market? We loved it so much we had to go for brunch and dinner! Featuring unique dishes like Barbacoa Donuts, Churros con Chocolate, and Pain Perdu French toast with horchata foam it was a brunch to remember. For heartier options, try the Brunch Burger or indulge in a Mimosa Flight.

For dinner we had Whipped Feta, Pan Tomate, Barbacoa Torta, Short Rib, Cesar Street Corn, Olive Oil Cake, and Beignets. Their wine selection includes a large list of international wines as well as a large amount of Texas wines from wineries all across the state which my little Texan heart loved! Don’t miss out on their Wine-a-Ritas flight for a perfect pairing from the wine selection.

One of the things we loved was exploring the small market onsite. It has all kinds of gourmet goods and food items. You could get ingredients to make a full paella at home, indulge in all types of delectable jams and high end olive oils. Or, you can just head to the counter for ibérico ham!

Have Lunch at Dan’s Hamburgers: A Vintage Diner

We enjoyed lunch at this great restaurant, Dan’s Hamburgers, which has been an Austin tradition since 1973. It is still family-owned and operated with an option to dine Buda as well. You get to step back in time with retro diner vibes while enjoying a typical diner menu featuring burgers, sandwiches, tenders, sides, shakes, and more with the best quality ingredients.

Operating hours are from 6 am to 5 pm on Sundays, and 6 am to 9 pm or 10 pm from Monday to Saturday.

Go for Coffee or Cocktails at Nate’s Buda Mill & Grain

Nate’s Buda Mill & Grain is a cozy spot known for its exceptional coffee during the day and cocktails at night and its callout to the wiener dogs. If you didn’t know, Buda has become the Wiener dog capital, thanks to their annual wiener dog races that happen every year. 

With ample indoor seating, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy your beverage of choice. Or you can opt to sit outside under the grand oak trees on their gorgeous patio.  What I love about this place is their different seasonal creations, like a blueberry lavender latte! In addition to their drinks, you can check out their events calendar for live music, comedy night, jazz sessions, and

Refresh Yourself at Meridian

Meridian offers a diverse array of coffees, teas, wellness shots, and medicinal tonics. In the later hours you can enjoy craft cocktails as well. Housed in a historic Mercantile building with the second oldest working elevator in Texas, its eclectic and artsy decor adds to the unique ambiance.

The bustling atmosphere shows just how popular of a hangout spot it is, where patrons can enjoy regular events like poetry nights, open mic sessions, comedy shows, and craft events. There’s also Zoi Market attached to Meridian so you can grab your drink and then walk around while shopping.

Enjoy a Tasting or Make Your Own Wine at Water 2 Wine

Craft your own wine at Water 2 Wine, where you can schedule a session to create your personalized blend. With the capacity to produce approximately 4200 bottles each month, you’ll have ample opportunities to explore the art of winemaking. The best part is that expert house winemaker, Jill, will guide you through the process, ensuring a memorable and educational experience. If you don’t have time for a wine-making experience, you can opt for a wine tasting instead. Try their vast array of wines, from sweet fruit wines to bourbon barrel wines, and even a spicy habanero wine!

Go to a Food Truck Park at Outskirts Eatery

Owned by Julia and her husband, this spot serves up mouthwatering biscuit sandwiches and more. Indulge in a variety of biscuit options, perfect for crafting your ideal breakfast sandwich. Or, try their tantalizing Bulgogi Bacon Fried Rice special for some really great food.

It was a fast casual experience, perfect for breakfast.

Uncle Buda Japanese Comfort Food

Satisfy your craving for Japanese comfort food at Uncle Buda. It is a food truck opened by a passionate young couple who discovered their love for Japanese cuisine during their travels. Transporting the unique flavors of Japan to Buda, they offer a mouthwatering menu featuring favorites like Melon Cream Soda, Omurice, Chicken Karaage, and Gyoza.

Louie’s Craft BBQ: Smoked To Perfection

Enjoy a Fancy Night Out at Taste on Main

For an upscale dining experience, we loved visiting Taste on Main. They had a gorgeous interior and a fresh oyster bar featuring selections from different regions. You can enjoy sitting indoors with a lively ambiance or enjoy the shaded patio. We enjoyed a delectable array of dishes, including 6 oysters from different regions, ceviche, lobster roll, seared Verlasso salmon, and seasonal veggies.

Go for Vibes and a Drink at Willie’s Joint BAR and GRILL

Willie’s Joint BAR and GRILL is your all in one spot for a laid-back atmosphere and refreshing drinks. This place was all about creating a chill spot where everyone could hang out under big oak trees, grab a drink, enjoy some food truck eats, and listen to live music. They’ve even got a spot for kids to play, so adults can relax a bit.

Our times here were all about kicking back with drinks, scribbling our names on the indoor walls, grabbing morning coffee from a food truck, and checking out stuff at Grace Monroe. We even caught a crab boil kicking off once!

Have Pizza at Tejas Birria

Pizza is one of those comfort foods loved by everyone. However, Tejas Birria takes a unique spin with their Birria Pizza Quesadilla. It is generously filled with a pound of savory meat, accompanied by salsa and consommé, all presented in a cute little pizza box. For more mouthwatering content, check them out on TikTok! At MudBugs, a chef-owned restaurant, we enjoyed a cajun-Tex dinner! Try the Boudin Shorties or the Big Sexy Pasta for a satisfying meal. Don’t miss out on the Famous Daily Dozen, where Chef K Ly crafts 12 specials for the day, available until they sell out and then never to be featured on the menu again.

Situated within the historic Buda Mill & Grain Co. in Downtown Buda, its a spot that gets packed even during the weekdays because of its popularity.

Get Food Truck Coffee at Embrace the Grind BTX

Visit Embrace the Grind BTX, a food truck serving up delicious coffee, conveniently located at Willie’s Joint BAR and GRILL. Ron & Megan are the passionate owners behind Embrace The Grind, a dream they turned into reality in 2019. With a combined experience of over 37 years in the coffee industry, they bring expertise and a love for serving others to their business.
