Eat Around Italy at Eataly
Now I haven’t made it to Italy yet, but Eataly transported me on a culinary journey all in one place with some life-changing pasta, fresh Italian goods, and an incredible market. Eataly offers a variety of fresh breads that are perfect for pairing with dips or enjoying as part of a meal. Whether you’re looking for a quick sandwich, a sit-down Italian experience, a great happy hour, or hours of exploring Italian cuisine, Eataly is the spot!
Make sure to secure a table for an intimate meal with friends and family to fully enjoy the experience. Check out my guide to eating around Italy in Eataly!

Discover the flavors of Chinatown
In Boston, a small area transforms into a whole new country with signs in Chinese letters, cooked duck hanging from windows, and a large mixture of different Asian cuisines in one area. There are so many different restaurants in one space, showcasing a variety of Asian cuisines, so it can be hard to choose where to go. It’s important to support local restaurants to keep this vibrant community thriving.
We spent an evening on a self-guided Chinatown food tour which you can read all about in my guide to Chinatown. Indulge in dim sum, milk teas, modern takes on traditional Chinese food, and more

Travel Through Africa
When traveling, I find that Africa is rarely represented. However, we’re often missing out on a whole continent of unique flavors and an abundance of diverse dishes! Start your meal with some delightful appetizers to truly savor the experience. We traveled throughout Boston to try foods from Nigeria, Sierre Leon, Cote D’Ivoire, Senegal and more. Read all about where to find African food in Boston.

Sweet Treats and Dessert Stops
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, Boston won’t disappoint. From authentic Italian cannoli in the North End (hello, Mike’s Pastry vs. Modern Pastry debate!) to creative ice cream flavors at FoMu and gooey cookies at Tatte Bakery & Cafe, dessert lovers are in for a treat. Don’t skip Blackbird Doughnuts or the mochi ice cream you’ll find in Chinatown. Treat yourself—you’ve earned it after all that walking and exploring!
Vegan & Vegetarian Gems in the City
Boston has a growing plant-based food scene, with creative chefs putting out some seriously impressive dishes. Life Alive is a top pick for vibrant, healthy meals that don’t skimp on flavor. Even non-vegetarians will appreciate the innovative menus and fresh ingredients.
Local Favorites
While Boston has its fair share of tourist-favorite restaurants, the real magic happens in the hidden gems locals swear by. Venture a bit off the beaten path to find cozy neighborhood spots in Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, and East Boston. From traditional Italian restaurants to fresh seafood eateries, these local favorites offer a taste of the city’s rich culinary heritage.
With their warm service and delicious dishes, Boston’s local favorites are a must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic dining experience. Whether you’re a longtime resident or just visiting, Boston’s local favorites are sure to become your new favorite restaurants.
Don’t Forget About the Lobster!
You can’t go to Boston without trying some lobster! I always like a unique take on the classics so I made sure to visit the Saltie Girl, a small but popular restaurant that serves up lobster & waffles! I’m not someone who can handle fish for breakfast/brunch (no lox bagel for me), so I was wary. However, if I could have these at home, I would even eat them over the traditional chicken and waffles!
The wait is long (we waited for 2 hours at lunchtime)so make your reservations and then plan to walk around the town. You can read all about the best things to do in Boston to find some things to do while you wait, most of which are walkable from Saltie Girl.
I didn’t get to fully experience lobster rolls in Boston. Luckily, my friend One Small Blonde, went on a lobster roll tour to find the best lobster roll in downtown Boston!
Outdoor Dining
Boston’s outdoor dining scene is a highlight of the city’s culinary experience. With its picturesque parks and scenic waterfront, Boston offers ample opportunities to enjoy a meal al fresco. Many restaurants in the city have outdoor seating areas, perfect for soaking up the sun and taking in the sights. From casual seafood restaurants to upscale eateries, outdoor dining in Boston is a must-try experience.
Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner or a family-friendly meal, Boston’s outdoor dining options have something for everyone.
Neighborhoods to Explore
Boston’s neighborhoods are a treasure trove of culinary delights, each with its own unique character and charm. The Back Bay, known for its upscale restaurants and trendy bars, is a popular destination for special occasions. The North End, Boston’s oldest neighborhood, is famous for its Italian cuisine and fresh seafood. Cambridge, just across the river, offers a diverse range of restaurants, from casual eateries to fine dining establishments.
With so many neighborhoods to explore, visitors can discover new favorite restaurants and dishes in every corner of the city.
