When visiting Hotel Xcaret Arte, one of the things I did the most was look up what I wanted to drink! There were so many options! I love how there were several signature menus (especially at each restaurant), but also their flexibility in making whatever you wanted.

Hotel Xcaret Arte’s mixology, led by the brilliant Maycoll Calderón, whose name echoes loudly in the renowned halls of Hanky Panky in Mexico City and graces prominent lists such as the World’s 50 Best Bars, goes beyond simple beverage service. It’s an innovative opera, with each bar representing a different play and handmade cocktail. Prepare to be taken away by Calderón’s innovative creations, which flawlessly merge creativity with regional flare to create a memorable beverage journey that complements your Mexican getaway.

For those looking for mystery and exclusivity, El Deseo is a hidden gem set inside the lively tapestry of Hotel Xcaret Arte. While, of course, it’s well known, trying to find it really was an adventure! We got lost, and if you arrive right when it opens, you might experience what we did—feeling like you’re going somewhere you’re not supposed to! Seriously! You’re walking through an employee-only section.

El Deseo, with its dim lighting and moody atmosphere, takes you to another time. The shelves and walls are lined with empty glass jugs that resemble apothecary jars, some of which have been reused into unusual, flickering lanterns. You can choose to reserve a mixology tasting during your stay or just walk in and order from their menu.

Open seating encourages mixing and close talks, allowing you to enjoy the subtle hum of conversation and the delicate clinking of ice. That is, at least in the beginning.

At 11:00 PM, the DJ comes in and gets the party started, and it turns into a full-on Vegas style nightclub with colorful flashing lights, DJs, and more.

Tucked away behind a taco cart, in close proximity to the main building, is a small bar. The inclusive resort will claim that you must locate its location on your own, but if you are having trouble finding it, the personnel will be happy to help you in the right direction! If you’re looking for a little more partying and nightlife at the resort, this late-night bar is a fantastic choice because it gets very full and has some exciting live jazz music playing.

One thing I found really interesting was that Xcaret actually had its own brand of liqueur. The Xorbo has several different flavors of top-quality ingredients, including passionfruit, macadamia nut, honey, and coconut. One of my favorite things to do was add in some coco liqueur to my lattes for a unique flavor!

Overall, we just thought it was really fun to have something exclusive to the resort.
