What is a ‘Casa’ and What is a ‘Suite’?

A building at Hotel Xcaret Arte is called a ‘Casa’, in Spanish. But it’s not just any building—rather, it symbolizes a unique art concept within the hotel.

Each Casa is a distinctive architecture with a concept centered upon a specific art of Mexico and its rich cultural legacy. The Casa’s interior design, architecture, and artwork all pay homage to the creative traditions of the chosen art expression.  Each casa features a restaurant offering dishes that highlight Mexico and its fusion with the world. Staying in a casa offers a unique experience of the cultural identity of Mexico.

The resort nestled amidst vibrant tropical foliage, creating a serene and picturesque ambiance.

A suite is a specific type of hotel room that offers elegant accommodation and additional facilities over other rooms.

Compared to other typical hotel rooms, the suites at Hotel Xcaret Arte usually have larger and more spacious living areas. These have enhanced features like rooftop views, Jacuzzis, swim-up access, and private balconies or terraces. The furniture and decorations often give off a more luxurious and high-end vibe and incorporate art from some of the great Mexican artists.

While a suite does relate to the exact hotel room the guest would be staying in, it also refers to the type of rooms that offer upgraded amenities and a more elegant experience than other hotel rooms.

It’s important to remember that although the website refers to “casas” (houses) in the descriptions of the suites, each hotel room at Hotel Xcaret Arte is referred to as a suite. The “casas” themselves refer to the six distinct sections of the hotel, each with its own unique theme and potential additional amenities or services.

As a result, while selecting your suite, pay more attention to the particular features and services that are most important to you—for example, a Jacuzzi, swim-up access, or extra living space—than to the type of “casa” it can be found in.

A serene pool with a central fountain, creating a tranquil ambiance.

Is there a Dress Code for the Restaurants within the Casas?

Yes. For further information on the restaurants and their corresponding dress codes, visit our post on the Restaurants at Hotel Xcaret Arte. Start your culinary journey here!

Is It Possible to have an Early Check-in and/or Late Check-Out?

Subject to availability and extra fees, the hotel provides early check-in (1:00 PM) and late check-out (2:00 PM) services. The hotel provides you with a space to store your bags and changing rooms so you may change into new clothing if you come before the check-in time. To make the most of your trip, you will also be able to use the restaurants and amenities.

Can I Choose which Casa I Stay In?

You cannot directly choose the specific “casa” (the house) that you will be staying in at Hotel Xcaret Arte. You may, however, select the kind of suite that most closely matches your requirements and tastes; also, based on the style of suite, you may be more likely to be placed in a specific casa. Here’s an explanation:

Examples of Available Suite Types:

  • Junior Suites: All casas provide junior suites, except Casa del Patrón, which serves as the main building.
  • Master Suites: All casas have master suites, except Casa del Patrón and Casa del Diseño (limited availability).
  • Swim Up Garden Suites: These are exclusive to Casa del Diseño, Casa de la Música, and Casa de la Pirámide.

Factors Affecting the Casa Assignment:

  • Availability: At the time of booking, the hotel allocates suites based on available rooms.
  • Suite Type: As previously mentioned, some types of suites, such as Swim Up Garden, are exclusive to specified casas. Selecting one of these suites improves your chances of getting assigned to that specific Casa.

Even if you aren’t able to directly select a Casa, it’s a good idea to let the hotel know what you would like either through the booking procedure or by reaching out to them directly. If you mention the specific elements or concept of a casa that catches your attention, they may take your request into consideration, subject to availability.

P.S. If you want to specifically stay in Casa de los Artistas, make sure to book a suite with the word “Adults.” For example: River Adults Suite, Ocean Front Adults Suite. That does the trick!

Do All Casas Offer the Same Level of Luxury and Amenities?

All suites at Hotel Xcaret Arte maintain a high standard of luxury and offer a similar level of core amenities, regardless of the Casa they are located in.

However, there are a few minor variations in the extra features and services provided by each casa:

Other Casas (del Diseño, de los Artistas, de la Música, de la Pirámide, de la Paz): These casas may provide special features or services related to their own Mexican themes.

For example:

  • Casa del Patron: Serves as the main building of the resort.

While every casa maintains an elegant level, you may choose a suite that best meets your desired amenities and may even improve your stay at Hotel Xcaret Arte by discovering the unique offers of each one.

What Workshops are Offered at Each Casa?

While the art classes are free, they are on a first come first serve basis. We had a hard time learning about these since it was hard to find online. However, each casa offers a different set of classes based on their theme:

This means that you may enjoy a wide range of cuisines without being limited by the casa you’re in.

Don’t worry! Hotel Xcaret Arte made sure that the Restaurants at Hotel Xcaret Arte suit your preferences. With Michelin-starred chefs on staff, these restaurants have a reputation for being the best!

Do All Suites have the Same Layout or Size?

No, the sizes and layouts of the suites at Hotel Xcaret Arte differ. The exact type of suite you select will determine the floor layouts and sizes of the rooms. The available suite types and their related sizes are laid out as follows:

The four types of suites: Garden, River, Ocean View, and Ocean Front View—all offer 60 square meters of space and are equal in size.

Junior Suites: With 124 square meters of space, these suites are much bigger than the ones described previously and are ideal for small families or couples needing more space.

Master Suites: With 181 square meters of space, they are much larger. They are perfect for families or guests who want the finest in luxury and space since they have a separate bedroom and living area.

Presidential Suites: These are the largest and most luxurious suites, which have a huge 430 square meters of space. They come with a number of bedrooms, living spaces, and other features like the multiple balconies.

Therefore, when choosing your suite at Hotel Xcaret Arte, consider both your desired amenities and the amount of space you require. You may make a choice of the suite type that meets your needs and tastes with the help of the size information.

Are there Suites that Cater to Families or Larger Groups?

Yes. All types of suites can accommodate up to 3 guests–except for the Presidential Suites, which can accommodate up to 6 guests. But remember, there is an 18+ (Adult) age requirement for guests who are interested to stay in Casa de los Artistas.

Is there a Butler Service Available in Any of the Suites?

Absolutely! All suites in Casa de los Artistas have a butler service. Once you arrive at the resort, you will be assisted to a special area to meet your butlers. They will set you up with a Whatsapp group chat so you can communicate. They can make restaurant reservations for you, and you can always count on them on the latest information about the resort.

Is there an Access to the Beach from the Casas and Suites?

Yes. You can take a swim on the beach! Even if Hotel Xcaret Arte gets close to a full capacity, you wouldn’t feel crowded in the resort. Most people choose to relax at the lagoon where the water is calmer, but there is a somewhat rocky beach.

A picturesque bridge over clear water, surrounded by palm trees and rocks.

Are the Casas and Suites Suitable for Families with Children?

Unfortunately, no. Hotel Xcaret Arte is an adults-only hotel. The hotel requires 16 years old and above for general admission, and the Casa de los Artistas requires 18 years old and above for guests. There are activities and events which may not be suitable for kids like the Bars at Hotel Xcaret Arte, that’s why the hotel doesn’t allow guests 16 and below.

But don’t worry! Its sister, Hotel Xcaret México, accommodates guests of all ages.

Are there Any Additional Charges Associated with Staying in the Casas and Suites?
