The Elm, a Ramada by Wyndham in Little Elm Review

During my recent trip to Little Elm, I had the pleasure of staying at a boutique hotel in the lakefront district, The Elm, a Ramada by Wyndham. The first thing that appealed to me was the convenience—just a little over 30 minutes from both Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field Airport.

Whether you’re in the lakefront district of Little Elm for a business trip, enjoying a lakeside escape, or attending a wedding at nearby Knotting Hill Place, The Elm is a great choice to spend a night or maybe a weekend.

From the comfort of your stay to the quirks and perks that make The Elm stand out, I’m here to give you the real-deal review.

The Elm: Location and Accessibility

Just a short walk away from the shimmering waters of Lake Lewisville, you’ll find it super easy to stroll over for a day of boating, fishing, or simply enjoying the scenic views. The hotel’s convenient location means you can quickly switch from a cozy retreat to lakefront adventures without missing a beat.

Easy access to The Elm hotel was just the beginning; the hotel’s warm and inviting atmosphere was the perfect antidote to my travel fatigue. Upon arrival, you can’t miss noticing the welcoming lobby, which sets the tone for your stay and an expansive outdoor swimming pool with lazy chairs for soaking in the sun, located just to the left of the parking lot. It’s also a huge plus that this non-smoking pet-friendly hotel allows you to bring along your furry friend without hassle.

What really defines The Elm as “tucked away yet in the middle of everything” is its proximity to the most iconic attractions of this lakeside town. I strolled over to Little Elm Park, where I spent a sunny afternoon lounging by the shore, while paddleboarding on Lake Lewisville was such a lovely adventure.

The Elm’s Premier Amenities: Comfort Meets Convenience

In-room Features

The hotel’s commitment to comfort is evident in its guest rooms, ensuring comfortable accommodation. The rooms were spacious and had all the essentials. My hotel room was convenient, with a comfy bed just right for a cozy stay and a mini-refrigerator for storing snacks. The coffee and tea maker were such a nice touch, not having to rush to the cafe for my morning or evening brew. And with flat-screen TVs and complimentary bottled water, all the essentials for a cozy night in were covered.

The sofa was perfect for lounging and catching up on TV, while the bathroom was clean, roomy, and had everything I needed for a refreshing start to the day. Although you have to pay some additional charges, the pet friendly rooms are a lifesaver, allowing you to bring your pup along on the trip.

On-Site Coffee Shop and Restaurant

The hotel’s modern amenities are thoughtfully designed to make guests feel at home after a day of exploring. Whether you’re here for business, leisure, or both, you’ll find everything you need right at your fingertips.

And being me, how can I not start by mentioning the coffee shop—an absolute lifesaver for those early mornings when I need my caffeine fix before hitting the road? And the restaurant is perfect for a tasty meal any time you’re hungry. From hearty breakfasts to satisfying dinners, they’ve got a menu that’s sure to hit the spot.

 High-Speed Internet and Business Services

Catching up on emails, thanks to the fast and free wifi, and having a Zoom meeting with my team in the business center or meeting room onsite made me so happy, knowing work and getaway can go hand in hand. They were well-equipped and perfect for hosting a smooth and productive meeting or even a successful gathering.

Fitness Center and Outdoor Pool

And that’s not even the beginning of the end. You’ll appreciate the fully equipped fitness center if you’re like me and enjoy keeping up with your workout routine. After an intense workout, there’s nothing better than unwinding by the outdoor pool, where you can soak up some sun or take a refreshing dip.

Dining at Eldora’s at The Elm: Savor the View

Narrowing it down to dining options, Eldora’s is the crowning jewel (literally) of The Elm, sitting gracefully on the fourth floor. I can bet that the exceptional cuisine here will become secondary when you dine in comfortable patio seating overlooking breathtaking views of Lake Lewisville.

Mornings at Eldora’s are a treat, especially if you’re a breakfast lover like me. Breakfast is served from 6 AM to 12 PM. I started my day with a steaming cup of freshly brewed coffee and some of their tasty breakfast favorites. In the evening, Eldora’s transforms into the perfect spot for dinner and drinks. Dinner kicks off at 4 PM and continues until midnight, giving you plenty of time to relax and savor the flavors. I highly recommend trying one of their signature cocktails—enjoying a well-crafted drink while watching the sunset over the lake is an experience you won’t want to miss.
