Let’s be honest—you’ll probably book the San Luis because of its amazing pool scene, and I wouldn’t blame you. The main pool area is huge and comes complete with a swim-up bar, palm trees, and private cabanas, giving you that full-on tropical vibe.
One of my favorite things was lounging by the poolside bar with a refreshing cocktail in hand. Whether you’re ordering delicious drinks or just soaking in the sunshine, it’s a total escape. And no matter the season, the hot tub overlooking the beach is the perfect way to unwind at the end of the day.
All around it were palm trees to make it extra tropical.
No matter what time of year you comes it’s always a good idea because you have that hot tub that looks right out to the beach!
If you’re not really into a big pool, just walk down a little further and you’ll find this tinier pool with little cabanas and more beach views!
San Luis Resort: The Room
The guest rooms at the San Luis Resort are bright and inviting, with floor-to-ceiling windows letting in lots of natural light. We had a private balcony that looked out over both the pool and the ocean—talk about a great view to start your day with a cup of coffee!
Each gorgeous room includes modern features like an air conditioner, flat-screen TV, a modern style bathroom, and cozy touches that make it easy to relax. The modern design of the space paired with the ocean backdrop really created a serene vibe.
On top of a beautiful room one of my favorite things was getting the views of the beach from my balcony. Getting to wake up every morning with a cup of coffee really set the mood. During our trip I had work to get done. If I could have an office by the beach all the time I would not be mad. For now I’ll settle for a few days of vacation and some office time with these views.
Plus, we could see the pool from our room! Perfect for knowing when to go down based on how many people are there.
The Spa San Luis
Switching into vacation mode was easy thanks to the full-service spa onsite. I booked a massage and a hydro facial using high-quality, medical-grade products. It was the perfect reset after a long week. When I walked out, I felt tension-free and glowing!
This spa is one of the top wellness experiences on the island—ideal for couples, solo travelers, or anyone needing to unplug.
Award-Winning Restaurants
You won’t go hungry at the San Luis. There are multiple restaurants and bars onsite, including an award-winning restaurant, The Steakhouse, serving up prime steaks and fresh seafood. For more casual fare, enjoy burgers, Italian dishes, or an awesome breakfast to fuel your beach day.
In the morning I enjoyed having a Starbucks coffee right on site and different pastries. On the hotter days there’s gelato to cool down.
The Steakhouse is one of the premiere dining options in all of Galveston! Enjoy great cuts of steak, seafood and steak mixtures, premium side dishes.
