Unwind in Paradise at Vida Cayman Islands Resort

During my recent getaway to Grand Cayman, I had the pleasure of staying at Vida Cayman Islands Resort, and let me tell you—it was an experience unlike any other. From the moment I arrived, everything about this boutique resort felt like a dream come true. If you’re looking for a peaceful, intimate escape with a focus on wellness and adventure, this place is the perfect destination.

The Perfect Location

Vida is located in the peaceful West Bay neighborhood, away from the usual tourist crowds. However, you’re still only a 6–10 minutes’ drive from popular spots like Seven Mile Beach, Cayman Turtle Centre and Camana Bay. The quiet atmosphere provided the perfect escape, and it was nice to have access to some of the island’s best attractions without the hustle and bustle.

Additionally, Pampered Ponies is just a few properties down the road—perfect for horseback rides & swims. Whether you’re up for a West Bay Loop bike route adventure or sunset views of the sea, the resort’s location offers the best of both worlds: seclusion and convenience.

First Impressions & Arrival

Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the tranquil vibe of Vida. It’s only a 20-minute drive from Owen Roberts International Airport, and the remote setting truly creates a sense of calm. The entrance features large doors that remain open, creating an open-air breezeway that leads you to the reception area. The resort has a sleek, minimalist design with modern architecture seamlessly blending into the lush landscaping. Even the stylish rooms come with flat‑screen tv sets and a separate toilet in each bathroom, adding comfort throughout our stay.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly staff and were given a quick tour of the space. There’s even a small shop where you can pick up essentials like bathing suits, clothing, water bottles, and more. The boutique vibe with only 12 suites made it feel intimate and private—exactly what I was looking for in a wellness and relaxation stay.

Warm Welcomes and Exceptional Service

The staff at Vida truly made our stay unforgettable. Natalia, the manager, greeted us personally upon arrival and stayed in touch throughout our visit to ensure everything was perfect. The team was incredibly warm and attentive, always ready to answer questions, book classes, or offer local tips. They even brought up a backpack cooler for us to use on a boating outing—talk about thoughtful service!

Rooms & Suites

Vida offers a variety of accommodations, including studios, two-bedroom suites, three-bedroom suites, and penthouse suites—all with modern amenities like ensuite bathrooms, well-equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, washers/dryers, large patios, and stunning sea views.

We stayed in a spacious three-bedroom luxury suite, and it was everything I could have hoped for. The suite had three full bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, a washer/dryer, and a massive balcony with breathtaking ocean views. The contemporary interiors were sleek yet cozy, and the full-length windows let in plenty of natural light. At night, the blackout drapes ensured a peaceful sleep.

Every day, we were treated to a daily refresh and turn-down service. Plus, I loved that Vida promotes sustainability—reusable water bottles were provided, which I really appreciated. One of my favorite features was the balcony—it was the perfect spot for sunset views and even an in-room spa massage.

Poolside Bliss and Natural Beaches

The outdoor swimming pool at Vida is a dream. There’s a hot tub, a wading deck for lounging in shallow water, and plenty of space to relax without the crowd. Just a short path leads to a natural beach along Barkers National Park. It’s not your typical touristy beach, but that’s what makes it so special—quiet, serene, and perfect for a peaceful walk.

I also loved the stillness deck, a tranquil spot designed for yoga, meditation, or simply soaking in the beauty of the surroundings. Shaded hammocks under palm and flowering trees added to the charm.

Dining at Nourish Eatery

One of the highlights of my stay was dining at Nourish Eatery, Vida’s on-site restaurant and café. They offer a daily credit to use for breakfast or lunch, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients that truly embody the flavors of the island. The food was delicious and healthy, and there were a variety of exciting options allowing us to try something different everyday.

The café also serves smoothies, coffee, juices, organic wines, and local beers. If you’re a fan of culinary experiences, Vida also offers cooking classes and can arrange private picnics for you to enjoy.
