July in Texas is one of those months where you can go all in on fireworks and patriotic events, or you can build a whole trip around peach festivals, summer concerts, local markets, and big community celebrations. If you are trying to figure out which July events in Texas are actually worth planning around, this is the list I would start with.
I rebuilt this guide around official 2026 sources already posted by cities, venues, parks, tourism boards, and event organizers. Since July 2026 has not happened yet, I only kept events that either already have 2026 details live or clearly show they are ongoing annual July events worth watching.
Click through to each city or event page before you go so you can double check tickets, parking, parade routes, and weather changes. July is one of the biggest event months in Texas, but it is also one of the easiest months for timing changes, heat adjustments, and packed parking lots.
Texas Trips Under $50
If all of these summer plans are making you want a quick getaway, my Texas travel guides are still one of the easiest ways to turn an event weekend into a full road trip. I especially love using them when I already know the event I want and just need nearby food, stops, and hidden gems to round out the weekend.
Seasonal Texas Events
- Where to Pick Berries: Berry season can still work in early July, especially if you want to turn an event stop into a full summer weekend.
- Best Swimming Holes in Texas: July is peak swimming-hole season, and this is one of my favorite ways to make an event trip feel even more summery.
- Texas Beaches to Visit This Summer: If your July plans lean coastal, this gives you an easy next step after you lock in an event.
- Other Texas Festivals: If you are already filling up August and fall weekends too, this is a good page to keep open.
By City
Austin
- Star Spangled Fest (July 4, 2026): If you want one of the biggest July events in Texas, this is such an easy anchor. The City of Austin event page already has the 2026 details live for the all-day celebration at Auditorium Shores with the Austin Symphony concert and fireworks.
- Hot Summer Nights (Free, July 16-18, 2026): This is one of the best July Austin picks if you want something that feels local, music-heavy, and way more interesting than a standard holiday event. Austin’s official tourism coverage says the festival returns to the Red River Cultural District with three packed nights of free music across multiple venues.
Arlington
- Arlington Independence Day Parade (July 4, 2026): If you want a classic big-community July event, this one is worth keeping on your radar. Arlington’s official 2026 roundup calls it the largest Independence Day parade in Texas, which makes it a pretty strong July anchor all by itself.
- Arlington Firecracker 5K (July 4, 2026): This is a fun add if you like your holiday events to feel a little more active before the rest of the day gets going. The city’s official page says the race starts at 7 a.m. and follows the parade route through Downtown Arlington.
Dallas
- Klyde Warren Park Independence Day Celebration (Free, July 4, 2026): If you want a July Dallas event that still feels big without immediately defaulting to a generic fireworks list, this is a good one. Klyde Warren Park calls it the official Independence Day celebration of the City of Dallas, with live music, family programming, food trucks, and fireworks over the skyline.
- Basically Beethoven Festival (Free, July 12, 19, and 26, 2026): This is one of the best July Dallas options if you want something lower-key and artsy instead of another all-day holiday crowd. Basically Beethoven’s 2026 festival pages confirm three free Sunday concerts in July at Moody Performance Hall.
Flower Mound
- Independence Fest 2026 (July 4, 2026): This is one of those July events that feels especially easy to recommend because the town already has the details posted and the lineup sounds built out. Flower Mound’s official page says the day includes the Children’s Parade, live entertainment, a classic car show, vendors, a kids zone, and fireworks, with Gabby Barrett headlining in 2026.
Frisco
- Frisco Freedom Fest (July 3-4, 2026): If you want a July trip with enough going on to fill more than one evening, Frisco is a strong bet. The city’s official special events page already has a full two-day lineup posted for 2026, including Paws & Stripes, the Party in the USA 5K, and the Freedom Fest block party at Riders Field.
- Calling All Heroes (Free admission for military and first responders, July 25, 2026): This is a nice later-in-the-month option if you want something more community-centered after the Fourth of July rush. Frisco’s official calendar says the event honors veterans, military, police, medical teams, and first responders with free water-park admission and a dedicated evening celebration.
Helotes
- Helotes Independence Day Celebration (Free, July 3, 2026): If you want a July event near San Antonio with a strong community feel, this is a good one to keep in mind. Helotes already has the 2026 event page live with hours, vendors, live music, and a fireworks show starting around 9:15 p.m.
Houston
- Freedom Over Texas (July 4, 2026): If you want one of the biggest headline July events in Texas, Houston is absolutely still in the conversation. The City of Houston’s official page already has the 2026 celebration live for Eleanor Tinsley and Sam Houston Parks, with a full afternoon-to-night schedule built around the holiday and America’s 250th anniversary.
Jersey Village
- July 4th Festival & Parade (July 4, 2026): This is a solid July option if you want a classic parade-plus-evening-festival setup without getting pulled into the biggest city crowds. Jersey Village’s official page says the day includes a 10 a.m. parade and an evening festival from 6 to 9:30 p.m. with music, food, and fireworks.
Lakeway
- Lakeway July 4th Celebration (July 4, 2026): If you want a family-friendly Hill Country holiday stop, Lakeway is a good one to watch. The city’s official page already lists the 2026 parade and hot dog reception schedule, which makes it feel especially easy to plan around.
League City
- Fireworks Extravaganza (Free, July 3, 2026): This is a really good July coastal-area pick if you want a family-friendly event with less effort than a full destination festival. League City’s official event pages already have the 2026 time, shuttle, parking, and fireworks details posted.
- Citizen Appreciation Day (July 4, 2026): If you will already be nearby for the holiday weekend, this gives League City a nice second community option instead of just one fireworks night. The city calendar already lists it at Hometown Heroes Park on July 4.
- Astronomy in the Park (July 11, 2026): I like including this one because it gives the month a little more variety than nonstop patriotic events. League City’s official calendar already has the July 11 astronomy night listed at Rustic Oaks Park.
Longview
- Fireworks and Freedom Celebration (Free, July 4, 2026): If you want an East Texas July event with real scale, Longview is one worth keeping on the list. The city’s America 250 pages and official news say the celebration builds toward a July 4 finale at the Longview Convention Complex with live music and what the city is calling its biggest fireworks show yet.
Pharr
- Independence Day Festival (July 4, 2026): If you want a Rio Grande Valley July event with a full evening schedule, this is a good one to flag. Pharr’s official event page already lists the 2026 festival time, location, fireworks, live music, food, vendors, carnival fun, and even a petting zoo.
San Antonio
- The H-E-B Fourth of July Celebration (Free, July 4, 2026): This is one of the stronger July San Antonio picks if you want a full-day event with enough going on to justify the drive. The official San Antonio Parks Foundation page already has the 2026 details posted for Woodlawn Lake Park, including a carnival, activities, music, and fireworks.
San Marcos
- San Marcos July 4th Fireworks Show (Free, July 4, 2026): This is a great simple July option if you want a classic night-sky finish without needing a giant festival around it. The City of San Marcos already has the 2026 fireworks viewing details posted, including the start time and best viewing lots.
Schertz
- 50th Annual 4th of July Jubilee (July 3-4, 2026): If you want a July Texas event that already feels bigger because of the milestone year, this is a strong one. Schertz’s official 2026 page already has the two-day schedule posted with the Josh Abbott Band, parade, 5K, carnival, live music, and fireworks spectacular.
Seguin
- Seguin’s Fourth of July Celebration (July 4, 2026): Seguin is one of those places that really leans into holiday traditions, and that comes through clearly on the city page. The official 2026 coverage highlights the flag raising, the “Biggest Small-Town Fourth of July Parade in Texas,” and a full holiday weekend feel.
Waco
- Celebrating 250 Years of Independence | The American Dream (July 3, 2026): If you want a July Waco event that feels more artsy and community-focused than a standard fireworks night, this is a good one. Visit Waco already has the 2026 listing live for the July 3 patriotic event at Art Center Waco.
Weatherford
- Parker County Peach Festival (July 11, 2026): If you want one of the best July festivals in Texas that is not just another Fourth of July event, this is such a good one. The official 2026 festival site already has ticket sales open and confirms the July 11 downtown Weatherford date, peach-themed food, family activities, and a full festival-day schedule.
July is one of the easiest months in Texas to build a trip around because there is so much range. You can go all in on fireworks and patriotic traditions, lean into music and arts events, or plan around one standout summer festival and fill in the rest with swimming holes, small towns, and local food stops.
If you are planning ahead, I would save this page now and check back as more cities keep posting final July 2026 details. This is one of those months where the big anchors go live early, but smaller community events keep getting added all the way up to the holiday weekend.
