Our Experience at The WinStar Spa
As soon as I walked in, I felt impressed. Soft carpets, calming lights, and a lavender scent that made me feel relaxed right away. But this wasn’t going to be a slow massage, it was going to be an adventure!
Co-ed Aquathermal Bathing & Hydrotherapy
Ismail and I went to the co-ed spa area for everyone and were speechless. There’s a giant waterfall that flows into a huge pool, and these jets shoot out from the sides, basically giving you a full-body massage party! We jumped in, and the warm water washed away all our stress.
There were even cool spots around the pool with special water massages for your neck, calves, and other places. It was like a personalized water park for adults, without all the screaming kids!
Walk-Through Experiential Shower
Next, we tried this walk-through experiential shower. The person who worked there was smiling and said ‘get ready for a surprise!’ We took a deep breath and went in. It started with a gentle sprinkle, then a cool mist that swirled around us. Then, suddenly, a blast of hot water hit our backs, followed by a jet that tickled our toes! We totally freaked out, but in a good way, laughing like crazy!
Sauna
I laid on the lower bench, while Ismail laid on the higher bench. Sweat started beading on our foreheads, then rolling down our faces. I closed my eyes and breathed in the nice woodsy smell. It felt like another world there, way calmer than the casino. Time flew by as I relaxed more and more in the heat. My body felt tingly in a good way and finally, I had enough heat. Stepping out, I felt refreshed!
Ice Lounge
Feeling playful, I decided to do their WinStar ice bucket challenge. I got out of the warm shower, already a little sweaty. I took a deep breath and pulled the lever. ICE COLD WATER. Everywhere! It took my breath away, but in a good way! Ismail, who is always calm, stood next to me barely even flinching. We both started laughing – shared experiences are the best, right?
Heated Lounge Chairs
I needed a minute to recover, so I plopped down on one of these heated lounge chairs. The warmth seeped into my muscles, melting away any leftover tension. They’ve thoughtfully stocked the relaxation areas with Nespresso coffees, refreshing coconut water, and delightful snacks to keep you fueled throughout your spa journey. Talk about pampering!
Other Amenities
The locker rooms even had separate saunas and steam rooms, perfect for sweating out toxins. Plus, there was a station with ice packs (a lifesaver after the sauna!), and a nap area with comfy robes and pillows – basically a dream come true.
WinStar Spa was definitely an experience. From the fun water features to the relaxing amenities, it left me feeling refreshed, recharged, and ready to take on anything – even the casino floor, which is exactly what we did next!
