For fresh air and old-fashioned fun, head to Harvest Season Farm, previously known as Matt Family Orchard. Depending on the season, you may find fruit picking, farm events, crawfish season, hayrides, or other family-friendly activities. The orchard also hosts seasonal events and hayrides, making it a great way to let the kids explore while learning about where their food comes from.

3. Axis Aerial Arts
They offer aerial silks and hoop classes with different age groups including kids classes. It’s a fun way to build confidence while flipping and flying through the air which was definitely a memory-maker. Yes, we took a private lesson at Axis Aerial, and if you want to do it all as a family, consider booking a private class.

4. The Craft Chicks
Let your mini Picassos go wild at The Craft Chicks, a paint-and-project boutique where kids (and adults) can make wooden crafts, shields, watercolor art, and even resin jewelry. They have ready-made kid kits and different seasonal kids. One thing we loved was that they had a machine to cut just about anything you could imagine into the wood. They cut me this cool ice cream wood cutout for me to paint! Plus, it’s a boutique full of sparkle, bows, and local handmade goodies.

5. Tomball Railroad Depot Museum
This historic depot is equal parts history and play, and kids go crazy for this. While you learn about Tomball’s train town origins, your kids can enjoy the life-size caboose and the iconic Z-scale model train display curated by local train celebrity “Mr. Dave.” People come from all over because the train display here is one of the most detailed ones. There’s even a giveaway box of toy dinosaurs that kids can pick from—a fun surprise!

📍 201 S Elm St, Tomball, TX 77375
🕘 Check current city hours before visiting
6. Book Attic (Hidden Gem for Young Readers)
If you’re raising little bookworms, the Book Attic is a charming used bookstore that lets kids dig through piles of adventures and picture books. It’s cozy and quiet and makes a great rainy day stop. It’s also a super affordable option since most of the books are used!

📍 15222 Farm to Market 2920, Tomball, TX 77377
🕘 Tue – Sat, 10am – 5pm
8. Burroughs Park
This massive park surprised us with how much it offers: multiple playgrounds, a pond for fishing, ducks, swings, a boardwalk trail, volleyball courts, and grills for cookouts. It’s perfect for letting the kids run free while you relax under the tall trees. We personally loved seeing nutria swimming around the pond and just getting out for some fresh air!

Tip: If you like fishing, this park is known for how regularly they stock the pond.
📍 9738 Hufsmith Rd, Tomball, TX 77375
🕘 Open daily 7am–10pm
9. Tomball Farmers Market (Saturdays Only)
This isn’t your average farmers market. We were blown away by just how big it was. The Tomball Farmer’s market could stand up to many big city farmers markets. Kids can enjoy a fresh popsicle, find fun homemade toys, or grab a doggie treat for their pup at Layla’s Barkery.

The market vendors regularly rotate so you’re likely to always find something new!
📍 205 W Main St, Tomball, TX 77375
🕘 9am–1pm Saturdays
10. Free Little Art Gallery at Saha Yoga
Located just outside Saha Yoga, this mini gallery lets you take or leave handmade art. It’s a fun little stop where your kids can donate their creations or take home a tiny masterpiece. Even if they have nothing to give, it’s at least stopping by and admiring. A sweet way to inspire giving and creativity.

📍 104 Houston Street, Tomball, Texas 77375
🕘 Accessible during business hours
11. Paradigm Brewing Company
Yes, it’s a brewery, but one that gets the family-friendly stamp of approval. Paradigm has a playground, a soccer space, and shaded outdoor seating. While the adults sip small-batch brews, the kids can run wild in the backyard area.

📍 2130 S Persimmon Ln, Tomball, TX 77375
🕘 Wed–Sun hours vary
12. Victory Pie Co.
While the story behind this pie shop is deeply moving (read more in our full feature), kids will be wowed by the pie flights and adorable mini pies. You can even grab all-day breakfast or a brunch spread that pleases the whole table.
