• Austin Food & Wine Festival: This highly anticipated event brings together world-renowned chefs and sommeliers who guide attendees on a flavorful journey of culinary delights and fine wines. This year, the festival is more exciting than ever with a lineup featuring many renowned Texas chefs and a brand-new Texas food event. Tickets can be purchased online. November 4-5, 2023.

• Texas Book Festival (free): This is one of the largest literary events in the nation! It will take place in downtown Austin at the State Capitol, featuring more than 300 celebrated and award-winning authors, along with presentations, panel discussions, and book signings. November 11-12, 2023.

• 30th Annual Austin Powwow: At the Austin Powwow and American Indian Heritage Festival, the largest one-day powwow in the country, attendees can expect to see hundreds of Native American dancers and special presentations at the Travis County Expo Center. Tickets can be purchased online. November 18, 2023, at 9 AM.

Recurring Events

• Words into Worlds (free): Witness the artistic bridge between written word and the stage in iconic American and British theatre productions at the Harry Ransom Center at UT Austin. This exhibit will merge visionary storytelling with tangible creative interpretations while offering insights into the theatrical process. Recurring weekly on Sunday & Tuesday (August 26 – December 31, 2023).
  
• Boxed In (free): Step into the compelling world of “Boxed In,” an exhibition presented by the Dougherty Arts Center and artist, Jacob Guzman. At the Julia C. Butridge Gallery, you can explore powerful depictions of people of color and the daily struggles faced by the inner-city working class. Recurring weekly, Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM (October 6th – November 4th, 2023).

Bay Area Houston

• NASA Nutcracker Market (free admission): Step into an eclectic world of retail therapy and get ahead with your Christmas shopping this year. • 6-foot Gingerbread House Reveal: The hotel lobby of South Shore Harbour Resort & Conference Center is transformed annually by resort chefs with a giant gingerbread house. This event is sure to be a winner for both children and adults alike. If you aren’t able to attend the opening ceremony, it’ll be on display through the holidays. November 16th, 2023, 4:00 PM.

• Mean Girls at Lutcher Theater for the Performing Arts: Experience the magic of this hilarious Broadway musical about an innocent newbie who falls in with a trio of frenemies. Tickets range from $40 to $90 and are available online. November 4, 2023, at 2:00 PM

• Museum Pub Crawl on Crockett Street: Prepare for a boozy historical experience in downtown Beaumont. The event will feature beer tastings, wine tastings, and food samples as guests explore the area’s local museums. Admission is priced at only $10. November 4, 2023

• Be Well, Live Well Series – Session 5 (free admission): Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Austin County invites all seniors to take part in the “Be Well, Live Well Series” at H.O.A. Meals on Wheels in Sealy. This program is designed for seniors who enjoy independent living and want to thrive in it! Expect exciting food demonstrations and a whole lot more! • Blanco Performing Arts Presents Stanton Street Duo: The Stanton Street Duo, a husband and wife duo from San Francisco, will debut at the Blanco Performing Arts. Their music style is Latin American, with a focus on tangos, boleros, choros, and zambas. Tickets are available online at $40 for adults and $10 for students. November 5, 2023, at 3:00 PM

Boerne

• Diva Night: Often referred to as “the best girls’ night out in downtown Boerne,” this exciting, annual shopping event celebrates the local community and its businesses. Participants can expect a night filled with shopping, food, drinks, and entertainment along the beautiful Main Street of Boerne. November 9, 2023, 5 PM to 9 PM.

• Handmade Market: The market features more than 60 handmade-only vendors and is known to be the largest of its kind in South Texas. It offers a wide range of unique handcrafted items including jewelry, apparel, leather goods, toys, home decor, art, and handmade candles. In addition to shopping, there will also be a coffee bar, food trucks, craft classes, and a VIP night. Tickets can be purchased online. November 17-18, 2023.

• Dickens on Main (free admission): This family-friendly event transforms Boerne’s historic Hill Country Mile into a vintage Christmas experience, complete with various holiday villages set up throughout the venue. Attendees can enjoy live music, food, shopping, and more! One of the highlights of Dickens on Main is the chance to meet some unexpected guests along the way. November 24-25, 2023.

• A Day at the Farm & Farmers Market (free admission): Spend time outside, shop, and hike the trails at Herff Farm. Special events vary, like classes or chances to volunteer with the Cibolo Center for Conservation. Weekly every Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM

• The Old Jail Museum Tours: Learn about Kendall County history inside this historic jailhouse that dates back to 1887. Tickets for visitors 10+ years old are just $5! Visitors under 10 will receive free admission. Weekly every Saturday.

• The Happy Elf at the Brownwood Lyric Theatre: Embrace the Christmas spirit at the Brownwood Lyric Theatre in the heart of historic downtown. “The Happy Elf” is a musical comedy that tells the heartwarming story of Eubie the Elf, a delightful character with a mission to share the joy of Christmas throughout the charming town of Bluesville. • Sedated, As If, Coaxial Wake Live at The Grand Stafford Theater: Come and unwind at the Grand Stafford Theater as the Ramones tribute band, Sedated plays for a live audience alongside two other groups. • Bingo at the VFW: Head over to the VFW for a fun-filled Bingo night! The canteen is open to the public, offering a variety of beer and wine. • Christmas Tree Lighting at the Grand Galvez: This event takes place on the Centennial Green located at the hotel’s entrance. The festivities begin with Santa’s grand entrance, followed by the Galveston Ballet and the Galveston Symphony Brass Ensemble. The hotel’s magnificent 35-foot Christmas tree, adorned with thousands of twinkling lights, will then be illuminated in all its splendor. November 24, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

• First Friday Ghost Tours: Explore the legends, haunts, and spirits of downtown Georgetown on this historically accurate, one hour ghost tour. Tickets are $20 per person, $15 for members and students. Monthly every first Friday from 8 PM to 9 PM (through November 2023).

• Live Music at the Library: The Georgetown Public Library hosts “Live Music at the Library” with seating limited to 200 attendees. These concerts are free and open to the public, and no longer require registration. Monthly every 3rd Sunday beginning at 2 PM

Houston

• 3rd Annual Dia de Los Muertos Festival (free admission): The festivities will take place at Sam Houston Park and will include live music, a parade procession, delicious concessions, and activities.

• Concerts Under the Stars at Marriott Marquis Houston: During these nights of musical talent, enhanced by the gorgeous views from the rooftop of the Marriott Marquis, you’ll be treated to renditions of songs by Beyonce, Lizzo, and various other artists, all performed by the best entertainers in Houston. Tickets can be purchased online starting at $45. November 8, 2023, from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

• Texas Renaissance Festival: Step back in time to the enchanting world of knights, jesters, and troubadours at the Texas Renaissance Festival, the nation’s largest Renaissance fair. Located in Todd Mission, Texas, just an hour north of Houston, you can expect full combat jousts, lively entertainment, delectable food, and unique shopping experiences. • Zanzenberg Music and Art Festival (free admission): Come and have fun with the whole family at the Art2Hearts Zanzenberg Music & Art Festival. • Outdoor Adventure Expo!
