Jessica Serna speaking at TEDx Desoto
Jessica Serna is an award-winning travel creator, speaker, and founder of My Curly Adventures who is widely recognized as the pioneer behind the Texas travel content movement.
What began as a personal mission to recreate the magic of travel after studying abroad quickly evolved into something much bigger. Jessica identified a gap no one else was addressing: people didn’t need to leave the country to experience adventure, they just needed to know where to look. By spotlighting hidden gems, small towns, and immersive experiences across Texas, she helped redefine local travel and built one of the most influential regional travel platforms in the country.
Today, Jessica reaches an audience of over 1.5 million followers and has generated millions in tourism media value, directly impacting local economies and helping destinations, hotels, and small businesses gain national visibility not just in Texas, but around the world. Her work has led to sold-out weekends for featured locations and has played a key role in the rise of Texas as a bucket-list destination.
As a trusted voice in travel, Jessica’s expertise extends far beyond content creation. She has served as a Texas spokesperson for major brands like Lonely Planet and Expedia, contributed to top publications including Business Insider, Texas Monthly, and Modern Luxury as well as appeared on regional television and national television, and authored travel guides that have sold out and are carried across the state with a book to be launched Fall 2026.
Jessica is also a sought-after speaker, presenting across the country on topics like tourism growth, influencer strategy, and storytelling that drives real-world impact. She brings a rare combination of creative vision and measurable results that bridges the gap between digital influence and economic development.
At the core of her work is a deeper mission: making travel more accessible, inclusive, and meaningful. As a Mexican-American creator, she is passionate about highlighting diverse communities, supporting local and minority-owned businesses, and helping people see the value of exploring what’s already around them.
