Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos: A Full All-Inclusive Resort Review

As someone who looks to the convenience of an all-inclusive resort, it also gets overwhelming to choose the right one. Recently, with fear, I tried my first family-friendly resort for a girls (plus Ismail) getaway. I’ll admit, I’m not usually the type to opt for a family-friendly resort. I tend to lean toward adults-only spots for a more peaceful vibe. So when we planned a group trip to Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos, I was a little hesitant. And while I love kids, I wasn’t sure I was in the mood for that kind of vibe. But to my surprise, visiting in January (when school was back in session) turned out to be perfect and there were plenty of spaces, no matter the time of year that were adults only.  The resort had a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere, and I ended up loving every minute of it.

In this review, I’ll be sharing my honest thoughts and insights into what makes Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos a standout destination. From the breathtaking ocean views and delicious dining options to the all-inclusive perks and amenities, I’ll cover it all.

When it comes to all-incusives, I’m a little obsessive! I want to know exactly what I’m going to eat, what I’m going to do, and every detail of the resort possible. So I try to cover a place in that same great detail. You’ll get a detailed look at the accommodations, dining experiences, amenities, and the overall vibe of the resort. Let’s dive into the full experience!

Top Things to Know About Hyatt Ziva

There’s a lot of things to make each all inclusive different and finding out what works best for you, will help to make the right decision.

Los Cabos / San Jose Del Cabo Location

This resort stood out to me because when I think of resorts, I think of Cancun. However the scenery of Los Cabos is completely different with mountains all around. I also really liked that we were on the San Jose Del Cabo side as this is a more laid back destination.

Regular Whale Sighting

Being in Los Cabos (and the less packed side) meant that during whale season, you can constantly see whales. From the beach and balconies and vantage point we were constantly seeing whale tales and breaches out in the distance.

Hyatt Brand

I’m a Hyatt loyalist and I love the perks that come with it. With my status I was able to get early check in, late check out, access to the club lounge, discounts, and room upgrades!

Family Friendly with Adults Section

if you want to spend time with friends or others who have kids, but also want a place to retreat to yourself, Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos offers that. There’s an adult only pool, restaurants that are adults only, and a section of the resort that are adults only.

Great Value Food

I’m of the belief that food that can make or break the experience. It’s always important to consider the cost of an all-inclusive and what level of luxury you will get. I was so happy that as a foodie, there were good options that satisfied what I wanted!

Newly Renovated

The Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is going under major renovations which means everything is new and exciting. We got to try their new Italian restaurant the day it opened! If you’re reading reviews dated before 2025, note that the experience has drastically changed.

Breathtaking Oceanfront Setting

One of the best things about Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is the oceanfront setting. During whale season, you’ll see whales right from the resort, which is honestly amazing. Even though we had a swim-up pool room (no balcony), you can still spot whales from the pool, the beach, or even the lobby. It’s such a cool experience, and the views are just breathtaking.

The scenery is unreal, with the Sea of Cortez stretching out in front and the mountains surrounding the area. While you can’t swim in the ocean here because of the rough waves, there are plenty of pools to relax in, and you’re still treated to those incredible ocean views and the chance to watch whales passing by.

Check-In & Check-Out at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos

From the moment we arrived at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos, we felt taken care of. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff made sure everything was handled with ease. While the standard check-in is quick and efficient, we were fortunate to experience the VIP check-in, which was a real treat.

Since we had an upgraded suite (club-level), we were escorted to a private check-in area, where the staff took extra time to explain all the resort amenities and made sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. It was a nice, personalized touch that set the tone for the rest of our vacation.

As for check-out, it was just as seamless. The process was quick, and we didn’t have to worry about any last-minute hassles. They even asked if we needed help with transportation or any last-minute questions about our stay. It made the whole departure feel as stress-free as the arrival.

Accommodations: The Original and Newly Renovated

At Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos there’s a variety of room types that cater to every guest’s needs. My biggest issue was do I get a swim up room so I can hang out in the water all day or a balcony room so I can see whales from my window!

Recently renovated, many rooms now feature a modern, vibrant design with bright colors and thoughtful artwork that reflects the tropical beauty of the surrounding landscape. The rooms feature new, modern touches, including updated tech, which was a huge plus. With these enhancements rolling out in March 2025, half of the resort boasts these stunning new rooms, while the other half maintains the classic appeal of the earlier designs.

The rooms we stayed in were part of the original design, but even though they hadn’t been renovated yet, they were still incredibly comfortable and offered everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

With rooms starting at $500 a night, the resort is on the higher mid-tier end and you’re definitely getting value for what you’re paying, especially considering the sheer quality and comfort of the rooms, unlimited food and alcohol, prime beachfront hotel, and included activities.
