Get Active Outdoors in Corsicana

Corsicana offers wonderful opportunities to enjoy the fresh air and natural beauty.

Lake Halbert Park

We kicked off our Corsicana adventure by soaking up some sunshine at the expansive Lake Halbert Park. This 145-acre oasis is truly a breath of fresh air. We were able to grab a couple of kayaks right from the sandy beach area and glide peacefully across the calm lake. The sandy beach area was a sweet surprise, and it’s a great place to stretch your legs and enjoy some downtime outdoors. You can even find a playground, lots of picnic tables under shady trees, and rv spots.

Corsicana’s Irresistible Food Scene

Get ready to loosen your belt a little, because Corsicana’s got that small town homie food scene with some twists! We had some great meals, and here are a few highlights you absolutely have to try.

Corsicana Steakhouse

Experience fine dining at Corsicana Steakhouse, located within the Corsicana Opry & Event Center. Enjoy live piano music on Thursday evenings and indulge in their prime rib night specials. The steakhouse offers a cozy ambiance perfect for a country dinner.

Across the Street Bistro

This place is a must-visit for a fantastic dinner, offering a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. Chef Andreas Kotsifos, the owner and a native of Greece, brings his rich Mediterranean heritage to the table, infusing the menu with globally inspired flavors. Standout dishes include the top-notch Paella loaded with chorizo, chicken, and pork, and their perfectly cooked Prime Delmoniko steaks. For dessert, the Limoncello Mascarpone Sponge Cake was light, tangy, and utterly divine.

Across the Street Diner

For a taste of classic Americana, this old-school diner is where it’s at. It’s got that perfect nostalgic vibe, complete with friendly service. We absolutely dug into their famous Wolf Chili Fries – a true Corsicana original that you have to try! Their legendary Greek Gyro & Famous Potato Salad (made from an original Hashops Drugstore recipe!) also lived up to the hype. And if you need a sweet cool-down, their Mint Chocolate Chip Milkshake was a dreamy, refreshing treat.

K&K Bar-b-que

When in Texas, you have to have some good BBQ, and K&K delivered! We devoured some mouth-watering Brisket Quesadillas and a generous plate of their Brisket, Burnt Ends, Sausage, and Ribs. Their sides, especially the Mac n Cheese, were also on point. And trust me, you’ll want to save room for their Banana Pudding or different cakes.

Food Belly

Food Belly brilliantly fuses Indian American cuisine with a distinct Texas twist. We absolutely devoured their Garlic Parmesan Wings – so flavorful! And the Tikka Masala Pizza was an unexpected revelation, a perfect blend of cultures on a crust. Don’t forget to wash it all down with a refreshing Mango Lassi.
