The owners of the Hobbit House in McKinney TX have custom-built a tiny home that looks like a more stylish version of Frodo’s Hobbit House. Although it’s not built into the side of a grassy hill, the theme of circles and natural elements are everywhere, adding to the novelty that is this Hobbit House in TX.
Lord of the Rings Comes to Life
This Hobbit House in TX brings the fictional world of Lord of the Rings into a space where it can be your reality for as long as you wish. You’ll be greeted by a trellis tunnel laced with vines and a cobble stone path running under it. A rustic stone bench, garden decor, and a hand crafted, dark-stained door are the next indication this isn’t any ordinary Airbnb.
The beautifully stained wood continues as you make your way inside your bedroom. The floors are gorgeous, and a large, hand-crafted, circular bed sits in the center. The bed even rests on what looks like an actual tree stump! Every piece of furniture is done in the same fun, exaggerated wood texture, including a chair, bedside table, and the headboard. Vines are draped along the ceiling with touches of green everywhere. There’s even a map of the Lord of the Rings universe and leather-bound Lord of the Rings books!
Across from the bed is a TV mounted above a mantle fireplace speckled in shiny stones that mimic the bathroom walls just a few feet over. The bathroom sink is a copper bowl supported by, yet another realistic tree trunk and the tub looks like a basin you might see in the Lord of the Rings world. The hosts provide towels, shampoo, and extra bed sheets.
*Note: The sloping ceilings sometimes get as low as 5.5-feet, so if you’re a little on the taller side, watch your head. Most of the ceilings are taller than 6-feet though.
Things to Do Near the Hobbit House
Sip your coffee in the morning overlooking your perfectly manicured patio and the chickens in the neighboring yard. The hosts provide a coffee maker and refrigerator for your convenience, but the kitchen is not equipped for cooking, aside from dishes and silverware. Plan to venture out into the neighboring city of Allen for things to do and the quaint area of downtown McKinney.
